Climbing and Abseiling
For the practice of these modalities we dispose in the North hillside of Fóia a group of rocks ideal for climbing and rappelling/abseiling that allow levels of difficulty, ranging from low to average/high.
The sports activity with the objective of climbing an obstacle, natural or artificial, using the feet and the hands, using the appropriate technique and equipment.
The technique used for descending steep rock using a fixed rope and equipment that enables speed control and safety. It is important to ensure that the rope reaches the ground and that the fastening is safe. The right hand controls the speed of descent and the left is for balance.
Use of a safety rope with regular fastenings to enable moving along narrow ledges.
